Ex-RIOT Singer TONY MOORE Talks About New Band FAITH AND FIRE; Audio Available

June 3, 2007

Tony Moore, the legendary voice of RIOT, checked in with Hardrock Haven to talk about his stellar new band, FAITH AND FIRE; he also talked about his dislike of current president George W. Bush; what it's like listening to his vocals on the legendary "Bloodstreets"; how the label Metal Heaven will push their new release to new limits; and a hell of a lot more. An excerpt follows:

Hardrock Haven: Let's get into the new FAITH AND FIRE CD. From the get-go, the first song "Ready" just blew me away. That is one of the best songs I've heard in … I don't know how long … and I hear a lot of music. I guess that FAITH AND FIRE is not afraid to take a political stand with your music, and it's obvious that President George Bush is a polarizing figure. So was this song completely about Bush?

Moore: Yes. 100 percent. Since I wrote all the lyrics, any of the political overtones are going to be my fault entirely. And, it's to the credit of the other guys in the band to let me go. We don't all agree 100 percent politically. But, it's not something that we ever discuss. They just sort of listen and smile and say, "Oh geez, here he goes again." They like the melodies, you know? I write pretty melodies (hahaha) and they let me sing whatever I want. That's what it comes down to. I am no fan of big governments of any kind, and it should be no secret by the virtue of those lyrics that the current administration is the worst in our country's history. Without going too deeply into it, I think that most of the country feels like they've been had.
